Overview

Phil at Home, a startup subsidiary of AG Insurance, combines multiple services and technologies to allow clients, especially elderly, to live longer and more comfortably at their homes. All the services are gathered around a personal assistant: “Phil”. These physical persons work in their own region with their own clients to look out for.

We held a service design track to define and develop this new service from A to Z, followed by creating and designing the final product.

Workflow

We worked in sprints of 3 weeks to develop and iterate on the service and product we were going to launch on the market. To define this service, we held several workshops with the client and end users. Once we knew what service and product we were going to offer, a brand design track was started, followed by the product design.

Together with a UX strategist, a copywriter and another visual designer we designed two apps. One for seniors on tablet, and one for the seniors’ relatives on mobile. We took the work in progress on a regular basis to end users to be able to adapt at an early stage.

The biggest challenges for this project were working together with several parties (IoT company, Development outsourcing,…) and also designing for elderly people (65+), while keeping the product visually appealing. Besides the app design, also a public website was developed.
